Mishap spills 15,000 gallons of raw sewage into the river

An estimated 15,000 gallons of raw sewage poured into the San Marcos River yesterday morning after construction workers broke a 20-inch-diameter wastewater main near Thompson’s Islands.

Updated: Downtown post office closure at least 6 months away

Current plans call for the downtown post office in San Marcos to close no sooner than six months, a U.S. Postal Service spokesperson told the San Marcos Mercury today.
