San Marcos City Councilmembers have called for another two-month extension of a moratorium against sexually oriented businesses. By the time the latest extension expires on June 30, the council will have kept the "emergency" moratorium alive for more than a year.

Proposal would restrict strip clubs, adult video stores and the like to industrial areas, require licensing and permits and impose a number of rules. Among them, performers couldn't come within three feet of patrons.

The San Marcos City Council made 2 a.m. bar closings official Monday night, then immediately passed an emergency six-month moratorium against the establishment of sexually oriented businesses.
