The Superintendent's December Student of the Month for San Marcos CISD is Goodnight Middle School eighth-grader Alexis Kulik, a member of the junior honor society, student council and campus choir.

Fifty-four San Marcos CISD students took part in the Patriot's Pen and Voice of Democracy competition sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to the winners, two teachers also will advance to district competition.

Representatives of Goodnight Middle School boys athletics presented a check for $1,159.70 to Community Action last month. The check was given out during halftime of a Goodnight eighth grade B team basketball game.
