The Commemorative Air Force Central Texas Wing will host a “Fly In or Drive In” to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in the European theater.
Organizers expect more than 150 cars and more 30 aircraft. In addition, the Tri-City Flyers RC Model Aircraft Club from San Antonio will be display remote-controlled aircraft.
The CAF’s World War II-era hangar and museum at San Marcos Regional Airport will be open for tours. The CAF will also sell flights on its North American B-25 Mitchell, “Yellow Rose.” The bomber flights cost $399 per person; helicopter rides cost $35 per person.Email | Print
