FROM STAFF REPORTS
AUSTIN — The National Weather Service has placed portions Hays, Travis and Williamson counties under a flash flood warning, an alert more serious than the watches and advisories issued in recent days.
Parts of these three counties received five to eight inches of rain during the last 24 hours and could receive one or two more inches before thunderstorms pull northward later this afternoon. The warning is in effect through 5:45 p.m.
The warning covers central Hays County, including San Marcos, Kyle, Buda and Dripping Springs; all of Travis County, including Austin; and southwestern Williamson County including Round Rock and Pflugerville.
