FROM SUBMITTED REPORTSTickets are on sale for “Spring Shindig 2016: An LBJ Party” on Saturday, April 23 at the LBJ National Historic Park on the banks of the Pedernales River near Stonewall.
The event, featuring longtime Austin newsman Fred Cantu as emcee, benefits the LBJ Museum of San Marcos through the Claudia Taylor “Lady Bird” Johnson Endowment, which was established last year to support the museum. Former First Daughters Luci Johnson and Lynda Johnson Robb are honorary co-chairs for the fundraiser.
Starting at $90 for individuals, tickets can be purchased online here or at the museum, 131 N. Guadalupe St. in downtown San Marcos. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
The event will showcase performances by country singer Michael Martin Murphey with opening performances by Ryan Scott Travis, Jan Seides and other guests. The event will be catered by Kent Black’s Barbecue with wine and beer tastings from Hill Country vineyards and breweries.
Set in the Live Oak grove at LBJ’s Texas White House, the Spring Shindig begins at 5:30 p.m. with reserved parking beginning at 5 p.m.
