KYLE — Daniel Orozco, whose well-received short stories have been included in “The Best American Short Stories” and “The Pushcart Prize Anthology,” will read from his works at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 at the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center.
Orozco will also host a reading and book-signing at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Alkek Library on the Texas State University campus in San Marcos. Both events are free.
In 2011, MacMillan published a collection of his short stories, “Orientation: And Other Stories.”
Currently a creative writing professor at the University of Idaho, Orozco won a 2006 National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and was a recipient of a 2011 Whiting Writers Award for emerging writers. His work has appeared in “McSweeney’s,” “Harper’s Magazine,” “StoryQuarterly” and “Zoetrope.”
