Election 2014: Becak, Hughson put each other on defensive with dueling voting record


Incumbent Wayne Becak and former council member Jane Hughson at the San Marcos Area League of Women Voters debate on Monday, Oct. 20, the first day of early voting and a little more than two weeks before Election Day.

Becak and Hughson answered the women’s league’s written questions for its 2014 General Election Voters Guide. Montgomery did not submitted responses.

  1. Ho Hum…she spouts the same-old, same-old garbage we listened to for six years but nothing changed. One hopes there’s more to San Marcos than the river and the University.

  2. Mr. Becak promised he would be a one term political office holder. Must be some deals you want closed Wayne. Nice job setting the official record of mass mailers of any city council race i’ve watched in over 20 years. Mighty expensive running four mailers in just two weeks. Did the poor you spout you care about pay for all those mailers? Yeah right.

    Why don’t you compare the amount of money Greater Partnership San Marcos 360K + the 250K for the code rodeo consultants and tell me how much you care about the poor.

    Not so fiscally conservative, and all this money going to special interests.
