San Marcos singer-songwriter Terri Hendrix and Bulverde musician-producer Lloyd Maines — father of the Dixie Chick’s lead vocalist — will perform a free outdoor concert this evening.

Sponsored by the Price Senior Center, the family-friendly fête is scheduled 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at San Marcos Plaza Park, 206 N. C.M. Allen Parkway. It is the next-to-the-last installment in this year’s Summer in the Park Concert Series, an effort of the San Marcos Parks & Recreation and the San Marcos Arts Commission.

San Antonio rockabilly and Texas country band Two Tons of Steel will closed out the series Thursday, Aug. 14. The finale performance is sponsored by Broadway Bank.

The Summer in the Park Concert Series is also supported by Grande Communications, San Marcos Lions Club, real estate agent James Walker, Wonder World Park, Martin Marietta Hunter Cement and Academy Sports+Outdoors.
