KYLE — Gabriel Villalobos, 73, of Kyle died Friday, April 11 surrounded by his family. He was born March 15, 1941 to Aniceta and Refugio Villalobos.
Villalobos is survived by his wife, Rosie, and her four children from a marriage with the late Andrew Cantu Jr.: Robert Cantu; Maria Vega; Roland Cantu and his wife, Helen; and Anita Norris and her husband, Mark. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Andrea Serrato, Monica Serrato, Emily Cantu, Gabe Cantu, Paul Norris, Natalia Norris and Chloe Norris, and by three great-grancdhildren: Matthew Gonzalez, Christopher Rosas and Charles Rosas.
Villalobos leaves behind three sisters and four brothers: Susana Arevalo and her husband, Ralph; Veronica Contreras; Julia Padilla and her husband, Tony; Jesse Villalobos; Joe Villalobos; Felipe Villalobos and his wife, Annie; and John Villalobos and his wife, Hope.
Villalobos is preceded in death by his parents, an adopted daughter, Liz, and a grandson, Sammy Robbie Cantu.
Visitation will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Harrell Funeral Home, 1715 Kirby Road in Kyle. A recitation of the holy rosary will follow at 7 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1100 Main Street in Buda. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. Interstate 35 in Austin.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul or Santa Cruz Catholic Church.
