With their 56-49 loss at Smithson Valley Tuesday night and a 57-44 win by New Braunfels against New Braunfels Canyon, the Rattlers are officially eliminated from playoff contention with two games left in their regular season.

The Rattlers now are 1-7 in District 25-5A and 12-21 overall. They are tied for last place in the district with Canyon (1-7, 7-21). New Braunfels and Smithson Valley both are 4-4 in the district and tied for third.

Wagner (8-0, 18-10) is winning the district, followed by Converse Judson (6-2, 20-7).

The Rattlers notched their first district win of the year last Friday at the snake pit, a 44-35 decision against New Braunfels Canyon. Shannon Mathis led the Rattlers with 15 points, followed by 13 for Raelyn Jackson.
