A daily rundown of live entertainment in and around San Marcos tonight, compiled by Mercury Scene Editor Hap Mansfield and our content partners at San Marcos Tonight.
It’s time to bid 2013 a fond (or not so fond, depending) farewell and embrace a brand new year. It’s a good time for a bit of introspection, meditation and resolution. It’s also a good time to go out, kick up your heels and stick your tongue out at the old year, taunting it as it fades away, and where better to do that than Cheatham Street Warehouse? The legendary venue features the swampy guitar sounds of the rollicking Dr. G and the Mudcats who will dance you silly into the new year. Sup (or more like breakfast) on their blackeye peas for good luck as a hopeful new 365 rolls around. If your taste runs to the more exotic, the inimitable Chasca will perform at the Triple Crown with a champagne toast at midnight. The important thing to remember about New Year’s Eve is that last year is the old story and you are free and welcome to make yourself a new one for 2014. We wish you great happiness in the coming year.
