The Texas State women’s basketball team produced an easy victory Saturday, defeating St. Thomas, 85-45, at Strahan Coliseum.
The Bobcats led only 17-16 with 9:10 left in the first half, but smoked to a 40-21 halftime lead to put the game away. Correy Moyer began the Bobcats’ surge with two layups and scored seven points during those last nine minutes of the first half. Erin Peoples scored six points for Texas State during the same nine minutes.
Moyer, Peoples and Ashley Ezeh all scored 14 points for Texas State, leading the team and all scorers.
The Bobcats, 3-8, open the Sun Belt Conference season Thursday against Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR) at Strahan Coliseum. Tip is at 5 p.m. Arkansas State will visit the Bobcats on Saturday (2 p.m.).
