San Marcos police are investigating the abduction of a woman and her 4-year-old child and the sexual assault and beating of the woman about 11:30 a.m.Wednesday, Nov. 6.
The woman was driving near the intersection of Cheatham Street and McKie when her vehicle was bumped on the rear bumper by another vehicle, police Cmdr. Penny Dunn said. When the woman got out to check for damage, she was forced into the back seat of her own vehicle by a Hispanic male while a second Hispanic male jumped into her vehicle and drove away. A third Hispanic male followed in a truck.
The woman’s head was covered and she was taken to an unknown location where she was sexually assaulted, strangled, and eventually lost consciousness, Dunn said.
The unconscious victim and her child were later left in their vehicle parked on the side of a roadway outside of San Marcos. The victim regained consciousness and was disoriented but was able to return to her residence where police and emergency medical services were summoned.
The victim suffered several non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Limited information was obtained due to her medical condition. The victim’s child was not physically harmed during the incident.
Police declined to release further details on the victim, her child, her residence, or where she is receiving medical care, Dunn said.
