Designer-in-residence at Texas State, Tony Walton has won the trifecta of awards garnering an Oscar, a Tony and an Emmy in addition to many nominations for aforesaid treasures. He has worked with Bob Fosse, Sidney Lumet, Paul Newman, Mike Nichols, Ken Russell, Volcker Schlondorf, and Francois Truffaut just to name a few and was nominated for an Academy Award for The Wiz, Murder on the Orient Express and Mary Poppins. Additionally he has worked on Broadway as a director or designer for a head-spinning amount of famous productions. He will screen All That Jazz tonight in Room 209, 7:30 p.m. at the Theater Building at Texas State. Walton won the Oscar for Best Art Direction for the film so his “talkback” after the screening will sure to be fascinating. The event is free and open to the public but seating will fill up fast so don’t be late! Doors at 7:15 p.m.
The Esperanza Peace & Justice Center will be celebrating Dia de los Muertos on Friday, November 1st, 2013 from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Rinconcito de Esperanza (816 S. Colorado St., San Antonio, TX).
