The city’s Parks and Recreation department will host the annual Farmer Fred’s Harvest Fall Carnival 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in San Marcos City Park, 1700 Charles Austin Drive.
Entertainment at the free event includes nearly three dozen different carnival games; arts and crafts; live music; and a costume contest. Tickets will also be sold for a barrel train ride, green screen photo booth and haunted hayride.
Registration for the costume contest is open from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
Judging is broken into age groups. For children ages three and under, judging begins at 7 p.m.; for 4-6 year olds, 7:30 p.m.; for 7-9 year olds, judging begins at 8 p.m.; and for 10 – 12 year olds, judging begins at 8:30 p.m.
In addition to the parks department, the event is supported by Texas State University and private sector Premier Cuts; Josefina C. Martinez, DDS, PA; Conley Car Wash and Express Lube; teleNetwork; Corridor Primary Care; The Hitch; and Emeritus San Marcos.
