Tonight’s Best Bet
Little Brave (Austin musician Stephanie Briggs) is not your run-of-the-mill singer/songwriter. Her voice is a clarion call to all women who want to be taken seriously as an artist. She will probably not be doing much twerking in her performance at The Triple Crown tonight at 6 p.m. but she will be expressing, confessing and charming with her extraordinary lyrics. Her lilt and musical talents defy comparisons to contemporary artists but if one had to choose, we would pick Liz Phair with her clear voice and point of view. Like Phair, Briggs is also graphically talented and her cover art won the Lonestar Music Awards Best Album Art in the year of 2010 for Cross Canadian Ragweed’s “Happiness And All The Other Things” in addition to co-writing several songs on the album. She is a dynamic musical force for good.
