A daily rundown of live entertainment in and around San Marcos tonight, compiled by Mercury Scene Editor Hap Mansfield and our content partners at San Marcos Tonight.
Tonight’s movie in San Marcos Plaza Park is the heartwarming tale of the little Mexican Little League team that triumphed despite their underdog status. The movie is based on the book of the same name by W. William Wincour. The scrawny looking team from Monterrey became known as “Los pequeños gigantes,” the little giants. Their pitcher Angel Macias still holds the record for the only perfect game in Little League history. Sure, you’ll figure out where everything is going in this movie in the first few minutes. But, you knew how Titanic was going to end, too, didn’t you? Despite its predictability the story is none the less inspiring.
Pre-movie games begin one hour before sunset! Come early, pick out your perfect spot and enjoy the movie and festivities. Don’t forget a blanket or chairs to make your self comfortable. Concessions available for purchase. For more information call Parks and Recreation at 512-393-8400. July 16 Movie: The Perfect Game @ San Marcos Plaza Park
