“Showville”, an AMC reality show about small-town talent, will feature San Marcos in one of its eight one-hour episodes. The San Marcos episode airs 9 p.m. Thursday, June 20 on AMC (Channel 63 on Time Warner Cable; Channel 55 on Grande).

The series features a group of eight small towns from across the country where talent was scouted, selected, coached and competed for an opportunity to win $10,000 in prize money. Originally titled “Road Show”, the program celebrates the spirit and passion of performers in all walks of life. The background and everyday life of the competitors is featured as well.

A crew rolled into San Marcos earlier this year with performance coaches Alec Mapa and Lisa Bustamante to film the episode at the Price Senior Center in downtown San Marcos. The coaches work with the finalists from each town to prep small-town performers to take a national stage.
