Hopkins, Old RR 12 intersection to close for construction

Construction work will close the intersection of Hopkins and Moore Street from 7 p.m. May 31 through noon June 1 as part of a water, wastewater, and drainage improvements project. Traffic will detour to North, Hutchison and Blanco Streets during the closure. 

 
On June 3, sections of Moore Street from Hopkins to Blanco Street will be reduced to one lane southbound for the installation of a wastewater line until September. Northbound traffic will be detoured to North Street and then to Lindsey.
 
The utility work is part of the North, Nance and Moore Water, Wastewater and Drainage Improvements project that will replace approximately 3,000 linear feet of waterline; 5,000 feet of wastewater line and improve drainage in portions of Nance Street, North Street and on Moore Street from San Antonio to Blanco Street.
 
The project is being constructed in phases. The Moore Street phase was planned for the summer months when the Texas State student population is lower. This phase of the installation is expected to be complete by September.
 
Drivers are advised to watch for detours and workers in the construction areas, as well as take alternate routes when possible.
