Falling behind, 5-0, in the top of the first inning, the Texas States softball team fell, 14-0, to Texas A&M in a game that was run-ruled after five innings Tuesday night at Bobcat Field.
The Aggies improved to 35-9, while Texas State dropped to 11-31.
The Bobcats managed only two hits. Cali Lanphear led Texas A&M’s 12-hit attack with a three-for-three night that included five RBI.
Texas A&M hit four home runs. Lanphear hit a three-run homer in the third inning, Amber Garza hit a solo homer in the fourth, Taran Tyler hit a three-run homer in the fourth and Jenna Stark hit a two-run homer in the fifth.
The Bobcats have a three-game series coming up Friday and Saturday at home against New Mexico State, which leads the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) at 11-1.
