Kyle frontage roads going one-way

STAFF REPORT

At last, one-way frontage roads through Kyle on IH-35 should be a reality before the end of this week

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) said the work necessary to turn the northbound IH-35 frontage road to one-way was to begin Tuesday. The southbound access road conversion was scheduled to begin Thursday at 8 a.m.

The changes involve repaving, striping and placing additional signs to alert and direct motorist to the new, one-way condition. It was expected that it would take one day to complete each conversion.

The one-way road changes are to take effect along the frontage road stretches between FM 1626 (Kyle Parkway) and FM 150 (Center Street).

The Old Highway 81 portion from Center Street to Martinez Loop will remain two-way and is not planned for change. Traffic headed north on If you head north on Old 81 from Center Street will come to a T-intersection at Martinez Loop. At this newly installed T-intersection, traffic will either have to turn west to enter Martinez Loop or turn east to enter the southbound frontage road.
