Tonight’s Best Bet

This afternoon, at the Texas State Opera performance of Don Giovanni, you can get knotted up into a mess of nerves at the bold chords and spine-chilling action provided by Mozart and the talent at Texas State. Then, head over to  Gruene Hall where Clay McClinton will ease those knots out with his smooth, honky-tonk country blues. Yes, he’s the son of Texas music legend Delbert McClinton but, Clay has got his own style and you’ll be captivated by its infectious groove.

He has every advantage in life. He seduces over two thousand women. He murders the high ranking father of one of his conquests. He lives a life of debauchery, drink, and sex, and treats everyone he meets with ridicule and humiliation.

From its spine-tingling first chord to its shocking final bars, the classic tale of the legendary seducer Don Juan comes to operatic life with Mozart’s timeless score in DON GIOVANNI
Dark, evocative and vividly theatrical, Texas State Opera Theatre this April will take a film noir look at this lecherous rake, his suffering sidekick, and the long line of people who fall under his dangerous, erotic spell.
