“Top Girls,” a production by Caryl Churchill, is the Texas State Department of Theater and Dance’s newest presentation. It will play April 4-6 at 7:30 p.m. and April 7 at 2 p.m. in PSH Foundation Studio Theatre. The director is David Weynand.
“Top Girls “is the story of Marlene, who is celebrating her promotion to managing director of a London employment agency. Her symbolic luncheon is attended by women from legend and history offering perspectives on maternity and ambition. But time is warped in this story, so it happens that these women also are her co-workers, clients and relatives. Like her famous guests, Marlene pays a price to ascend from proletarian roots to the executive suite.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $7 for students with a valid Texas State ID. They may be purchased beginning April 1 at 10 a.m. at the Texas State Box Office. Box office hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. April 1-3, 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m. April 4-6, 6-7:30 p.m. April 6 and 12:30-2 p.m. April 7.
