The San Marcos City Council meets at 6 p.m. today. The panel’s agenda includes:
- A public hearing and possible vote on Lazy Oaks Ranch, a proposed residential subdivision on a 1,396-acre former ranch near San Marcos Baptist Academy and the Settlement and Fox Ridge subdivisions. The proposal would allow about 1,750 homes on 937 acres. The density amounts to two units per acre on the southeastern half and one unit per acre on the southwestern half. About 459 acres would be designated as conservation open space.
- A public hearing on a neighbor’s appeal of Zelick’s Icehouse’s conditional use permit, granted last month by the planning and zoning commission.
- Consideration of an agreement with Martin Marietta Materials Southwest Inc to lease water rights from the city for 1,000 acre-feet of Edwards Aquifer water for $220,000.
- Consideration of a resolution supporting construction of a 228-unit multifamily apartment complex at 2903 Hunter Road. The developer needs the city’s blessing to qualify for incentives from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
