First Baptist choir performs at Avery Fisher Hall

First Baptist Church of San Marcos choir members recently performed at Avery Fisher Hall in New York as part of a Memorial Day concert. The choir is directed by Tim Lyles.

The San Marcos residents joined an assortment of church, hobby and school choirs from around the nation on Monday, May 28 to perform “A Festive Call To Freedom” and other arrangements by Austin composer Joseph M. Martin. Choirs from Bastrop and Fredericksburg were among those who performed.

They were accompanied by sopranos Sue Martin and Tiffany Coburn.
