Farmer Fred and the Easter Bunny are coming to San Marcos with some Spring-filled fun for children on April 5 in San Marcos Plaza Park.
The city of San Marcos Parks and Recreation and the Texas State University Recreation Department are sponsoring the event 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 5 at San Marcos Plaza Park, 401 E. Hopkins. Admission is free.
“Parks and Recreation looks forward to hosting this low-cost, family-friendly event in our park every year to celebrate the Spring season” said Jessica Jenkins, the recreation program coordinator for the city’s Parks and Recreation department.
Participants can play 35 free carnival games with prizes and candy. Children can have their picture taken with the bunny for $3, enjoy a jump castle for $1 and ride the Wiggle Waggle train for $2.50.
The times for the Egg Hunts are as follows:
- 6:15 p.m.: 1 to 3 year olds
- 6:45 p.m.: 4 to 5 year olds
- 7:15 p.m.: 6 to 9 year olds
- 7:45 p.m.: 10 to 12 year olds
Event sponsors include Austin Sonics, Texas Roadhouse, Goodrich Aerostructures, Emeritus-San Marcos, Central Texas Medical Center, Schlitterbahn, Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, CFAN, and Sam’s Club.
