After severe rains in the night, several roads have been closed around the Kyle area. No Buda roads have been reported closed. Hays County remains under a flood watch until noon today.

Hays County will be under a flash flood watch tonight through tomorrow morning with a major storm system expected to bring torrential rain to the Austin area. The National Weather Service says:
A storm system will interact with high amounts of moisture over south central Texas and produce a significant flash flood threat Monday night into Tuesday. The chance of rain is expected to increase over the next 18 hours … with heavier rainfall rates expected Monday night. A training pattern of thunderstorms is expected along a cold front as it moves slowly eastward across the watch area late Monday night into Tuesday morning. sStorm total rainfall is expected to range from 2 to 5 inches … with isolated spots up to 7 inches. the highest flash flood potential is expected to be near the Austin metro area and farther to the north and east.
