Texas State faculty to perform Mozart, Bach this evening

Ten seasoned musicians will peform masterworks by Mozart and Bach this evening in San Marcos.

The concert, entitled “Mostly Mozart,” will be at 7:30 p.m. in the recital hall (room 236) of Texas State University’s Music Building.

Admission is $5 for the general public and $3 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the door beginning at 7 p.m.

The performers, who include current and former Texas State University faculty members, are Ian Davidson on oboe; David Pino, clarinet; H. Stephen Hager, horn; Daris Hale, bassoon; Jason Kwak, piano; Paula Bird, violin; Ames Asbell, viola; Martha Carapetyan, viola; Karla Hamelin, cello; John Schmidt, organ.

The pieces on the program are:

-Serenade in C Minor, K. 388/406, 4 movements (W. A. Mozart)
-Triosonata in E-Flat Major, BWV 525, 3 movements (J. S. Bach)
-Quintet for Winds and Piano, K 452, 3 movements (W. A. Mozart)
