The corpse found in San Marcos Friday was that of Frank Allen Urrutia, age 51, police announced today.
Urrutia’s cause of death was determined to be a homicide by blunt force trauma, said San Marcos PD Commander Penny Dunn.
A local game warden found Urrutia’s body Friday evening under the Blanco River bridge near IH-35, in a brushy area, according to city officials.
Urrutia’s white 2000 GMC single-cab truck, Texas license plate 57T-NH6, is missing and police consider the vehicle to be stolen.
Urrutia was last seen at Jack’s Roadhouse on Hunter Road in San Marcos at 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 14. Police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen him during or after that time.
Urrutia was disabled from a previous vehicle collision that resulted in some facial disfiguration and the amputation of his left arm.
Anyone with information is asked to call the San Marcos Police Department’s non-emergency number, (512) 753-2108, or the Criminal Investigation Division at (512) 753-2300.
