San Marcos council member Shane Scott will be recognized by the National League of Cities for reaching the Bronze level in its Certificate of Achievement in Leadership program.
Sponsored by the NLC Leadership Training Institute, the award will be presented in Phoenix, Ariz. at the annual Congress of Cities Conference in November. To achieve the Bronze level, a local official must earn 16 credits encompassing all five core competency areas of the curriculum, referred to as “Cornerstone,” “Competent Practitioner,” “Communicator,” “Collaborator” and “Catalyst.”
Scott is one of the fewer than 808 NLC members to have reached the Bronze level in the Certificate of Achievement in Leadership program since its inception.
The seminars address the areas of personal leadership growth and development, effective governance, effective communications, skills in developing and promoting partnerships and managing change.Email | Print
