The Alumni Association of Texas State has honored four with the university’s Alumni Achievement Award.
Those honored in 2011 are Agnes and David Hubbard of Boerne, Greg Schwartz of San Antonio and Judith Porter Smith of San Antonio.
Agnes and David Hubbard are 1983 graduates with degrees in horticulture and agriculture animal science, respectively. They were honored for their work with the Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries, which sustains more than 2,800 families, about 8,260 people in eight Hill Country counties.
Schwartz is a 1982 graduate with a degree in management information systems. He is being honored for his work as chief information officer for United Services Automobile Association (USAA), which that offers financial services and insurance to military people and families. Schwartz also is senior vice president of information technology services, overseeing the IT systems behind the multiple channels used to serve USAA’s more than 7.4 million members.
Judith Porter Smith is a 1966 graduate with a degree in home economics. She is being honored for her extensive work in developing nutrition and food science and individual and family living curricula for the Northside ISD in San Antonio.
The Alumni Achievement Award honors Texas State graduates who are distinguished and prominent in their chosen business, profession or life work on a local, state or regional level.
