On Nov. 9 the Hays County Food Bank got a generous donation from the employees of the City Of San Marcos. Their donation included $350 and 316 pounds of canned and non-perishable foods.
The support will help the food bank provide turkey boxes to area families so they may enjoy the comfort and tradition of a home-cooked thanksgiving dinner. The food bank is in the process of preparing the boxes and will prepare 2,100 boxes which will be be supplied to area families, a 30 percent increase from last year.
The food bank is currently seeking volunteers for Nov. 15-19 from 8 a.m. to 4.p.m. to help assemble and deliver boxes for their Turkeys Tackling Hunger campaign.
