STAFF REPORT
The latest class of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) was recently sworn in by Judge Karin Bonicoro. With their training complete, the volunteers will soon be assigned to children who have been removed from their homes and placed in the court system due to abuse and neglect.
The CASA volunteers will get to know everyone in the children’s lives to better speak up for the child and advocate for their best interest.
Another free CASA volunteer training is starting soon. Those interested in becoming a CASA volunteer may contact Training Coordinator Debbie Haynes at (512) 392-3578 or visit www.cascentex.org.
CASA of Central Texas advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system by recruiting, training and supporting community volunteers in Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties.
Just a short note to Judge Karin Bonicoro to thank her for all her hard work for children. My daughter, Lisa, has been working for CPS for many years now but will be leaving this week. She would like to be a CASA volunteer. Wait until I tell her about Karin. The judge was our neighbor in El Paso many years ago.
