Celebrating Texas’ first Texas Education Human Resources Day, San Marcos Mayor Susan Narviaz issued a proclamation honoring the San Marcos CISD human resources staff.
Employees in San Marcos CISD’s Human Resources Department support the needs of 1,159 teachers, employees and administrators in the school district.
Governor Rick Perry proclaimed Oct. 15 to be the first ever Texas Education Human Resources Day. The Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators (TASPA) initiated the effort to recognize the efforts of education human resources (HR) staff.
“Often HR team members are in the background, not seeking credit for all the great things they do, not the least of which is providing expertise that supports each district in attracting and retaining quality staff,” TASPA President Tamira Griffin said. “Without our most important asset—people—none of our districts would be able to fulfill the goal of providing an outstanding education for all students.”
The governor’s proclamation reads, in part, “…human resource professionals in Texas schools play a vital role in ensuring our students get the best education possible.”
