SMA middle School volleyball team celebrates trophy win

The San Marcos Academy (SMA) Middle School volleyball team recently participated in the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) Tournament and won the consolation bracket.

The academy’s trophy winning “A” team included eighth graders Brittany Faber, Jessie Sainah, Eileen Salas, Quandanique Semien, Hannah Paul, Ava Garcia and Shelby Teis. The coach of the squad is Danielle Madsen, a 2003 SMA graduate.

Also playing in the TSD tournament was the academy’s “B” team consisting of seventh graders Amy Batiste, Kelsey Chandler, Sadie Lopez, McKenna Mason, Emily Matthews, Alyson Parker, Kaitlyn Reams, Wendy Ho and manager Callie Innerarity.
