Hays County Crime Stoppers is assisting the San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) in solving an armed robbery at the University Heights apartment complex in August.

At about 11:00 p.m. on Aug. 21, a man was walking through the complex parking lot when he was confronted by a white male asking to use his cell phone. As the victim handed the suspect his cell phone, the suspect punched the victim in the face twice.  As the victim took a stance to defend himself, the suspect raised his shirt, exposing the handle of a handgun he had tucked in the waistband of his pants.

The black suspect stands between 5-8 and 6-0 with short hair. He was wearing a blue shirt, dark colored shorts, and possibly had some kind of black cap or bandana on his head.

SMPD has no leads.
