Keep San Marcos Beautiful concert series starts Thursday

Keep San Marcos Beautiful and Tall Man Records will host the first of a fall concert series on Thursday, September 30. The series will be highlighting an array of musical talent, art vendors and eco vendors at San Marcos Plaza stage located on 401 E. Hopkins.

The art, eco and food vendors will open at 6 p.m. and the performances will start at 7 p.m. with an opening act. The headliners for each concert will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the free concert.

Opening night kicks off, Thursday, September 30 with three San Marcos bands; Equals, Zlam Dunk, and the Devil in the Drink, formerly known as the Couch, in their debut San Marcos performance with their new name.

The series will continue every Thursday evening through Oct. 28. Confirmed acts this season include Stewart Mann and the Statesboro Revue with special guest Javi Garcia and the Cold, Cold Ground, Van Wilks with special guest Adam Johnson and Red Rooster Revue, Texas Renegade, and the Inaugural Hollow-een Bash with Devil’s Hollow and Friends with special guest Dertybird.

This fall concert series will highlight some great music and offer the public the chance to enjoy some unique art and eco opportunities.

“I am thrilled that Keep San Marcos Beautiful (KSMB) was able to join Tall Man Records and produce such a variety of education and entertainment,” said Heather Powdrill, Community Beautification Coordinator.

KSMB is a city initiative that was formed last year, and the focus areas are city wide beautification, waste reduction and litter prevention.“One of KSMB’s goals is to bring awareness to our citizens and visitors. We hope to accomplish this goal at this entertaining concert series,” Powdrill said.

The fall concert series is made possible by Tres Hefter of Tall Man Records who was awarded a mini-grant by the City of San Marcos Arts Commission. The mini-grant funds were awarded to the City by the Texas Commission on the Arts. Other concert sponsors include the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, Green Living Expo and Full Circle Salon. Finally, Tantra Coffee House will be the exclusive drink sponsor and a local food vendor will be available each night.

  1. We went to the concert this eve, Thurs.Oct.20 and nothin’ happening..what happened? was there around 8PM..no body there
    please let me know and if it will be next week. Thanks. Sonshine
