Texas State’s Writing Center will host Dan Quinn, communications director for the Texas Freedom Network (TFN), as the first guest in its speaker series, “Writing Beyond the University.”
Quinn will speak on Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. in room G04 at Flowers Hall on the Texas State campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The speaker series is intended to emphasize the importance of post-college writing in all fields of endeavor and careers. The program will feature monthly speakers to present lectures on the topic.
Quinn will draw on his experiences in journalism as he discusses the importance of writing in all fields. An open question-and-answer session will follow the lecture. Refreshments will be provided.
TFN is a nonpartisan grassroots organization of more than 45,000 religious and community leaders. The organization advocates for religious freedom, civil liberties and strengthened public schools. TFN has served as a resource for the media since 1995.
As a communications director for TFN, Quinn interacts with news media and manages research and public policy reports for the organization.
