The Texas State men’s golf team shot a six-over-par 294 in the final round Tuesday to finish ninth in a field of 20 teams at the Texas-Arlington Waterchase Invitational.
The Bobcats finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of 877 as a team.
Texas State junior Alastair Jones had the best 54-hole score for the Bobcats, firing a two-under-par 70 in the final round to finish in a one-over 217. Jones tied for 15th in the tournament with teammate Tom Moore and Carlos Ortiz of North Texas.
Texas State freshman Stuart Smallwood shot a one-over-par 73 in the final round to finish the tournament tied for 24th place with a three-round total of 219. Bobcat junior college transfers Jeremy Lambright and Juan Salcedo finished the tournament with 54-hole totals of 223 and 224, respectively. Senior Philip Krebsbach finished the tournament with a three-round total of 225 after he fired a one-over-par 73 in the final round.
North Texas won the team title with a team score of 844. Southern Mississippi was a distant second-place team with a three-round team score of 865. Louisiana Tech, Sam Houston State and Texas-Arlington, in order, rounded out the top five.
Curtis Donahoe of North Texas and Derek Plucienski of Southern Miss tied for the individual medalist honors after finishing the tournament seven-under-par.
