On Sept. 3, the Air Evac Lifeteam delivered the game ball to the cheerleaders at San Marcos Academy’s home opening football game.
San Marcos Academy (SMA) recently signed an athletic membership contract with Air Evac Lifeteam to provide air ambulance services for athletes from the academy at both home and away game events.
The athletic membership provides prepaid protection for both SMA athletes and opposing team athletes who are on campus for an athletic event. All SMA athletes are covered at both home and away games, including while traveling to and from the event.
“We saw this as a cost-effective opportunity to provide safety and protection for our students and our parents,” said Assistant Vice President for Athletics Snuffy Smith. “We have a lot of athletic events and we travel to a lot of athletic events. We hope it’s something we’ll never have to use, but it does give us one more tool for protecting our kids and relieving our parents of a potential financial burden.”
The Air Evac Lifeteam also has been an active member of SMA’s Bear Club this year. At SMA’s first home game, the Air Evac Lifeteam crew landed on the football field delivering the game ball to the cheerleaders.
Fred Rucker, membership sales manager for Air Evac Lifeteam, said the company covers more than 850,000 members in the 14 states.
