Texas State’s volleyball team lost all three matches it played during the weekend at the Southern Methodist University/Doubletree Invitational in Dallas.

Though the Bobcats won just about every statistical category, then made 13 service errors, compared to five for Texas Tech. AJ Watlington had 20 kills for the Bobcats against Texas Tech

Freshman right side hitter Amari Deardorff was named to the all-tournament team for Texas State after hitting .309 with 41 kills in three matches.

“It means a lot because it’s only my second tournament,” Deardorff said.

Texas State opened the tournament last Friday with a five-game loss to California-Davis by scores of 22-25, 25-16, 13-25, 25-23 and 15-10. Deardorff led the Bobcats with 20 kills, followed by Watlington with 15 and Preslie Alexander with 15.
