Representatives of San Marcos Academy’s National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recently donated cash and school supplies in support of Broadway Bank’s “Stuff the Bus” campaign. The NJHS collected donations and supplies and dropped them off at Broadway Bank in San Marcos.
Broadway Bank, in partnership with the Greater San Marcos Youth Council (GSMYC), endeavors to equip needy students in San Marcos CISD with the campaign.
The “Stuff the Bus” initiative was kicked off at the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Back to School luncheon on Aug. 12.
This is the twelfth year that the GSMYC has conducted a school supply drive in support of struggling San Marcos families with school aged children.
“We had really good success this year,” said Craig Corbin, GSMYC’s supervisor of outreach services . “The liaisons have been able to stock their closets with supplies. We will continue to take donations and try to help throughout the year since new students are always coming into the district.”
Donations may still be made to the drive. Those wishing to donate to the school supplies drive may contact Craig Corbin at GSMYC by phone at (512) 754-0500, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.Email | Print
