City slates bike plan meeting

Bicyclists enjoy trails along the San Marcos River. Bicyclists are invited to a public discussion on improving San Marcos bicycle routes.


The Transportation Division of the Public Services Department will host a bike plan meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9 at the Activity Center, 501 East Hopkins Street, Room 1.

The city is soliciting suggestions and comments to the city’s’ bike routes and map and will solicit suggestions for bike improvements.

“San Marcos residents are encouraged to attend to help make San Marcos more bicycle-friendly,” said Sabas Avila, Assistant Director of Public Services/ Transportation. “We are particularly interested in learning about common roads used for cycling in the city and proposed bike routes that the city could establish.”
