Bobcats to open Cancun tourney against Ole Miss

The men’s basketball team at Texas State will play its first round game in the Cancun Governor’s Cup against Mississippi on Dec. 22 in Cancun, Mexico.

The Bobcats are participating in the eight-team tournament owned by ESPN Regional Television, which will televise the tournament.

The Bobcats will play Mississippi at 5 p.m. on Dec. 22. Other first-round games to be played that day include Northeastern vs. Saint Louis, East Tennessee vs. Southern Mississippi and Appalachian State vs. Colorado State.

Each team will play three games in the tournament, with the championship game to be played on Dec. 24 between the two teams that come through the first two rounds with two wins.
