Hays County Crime Stoppers is helping the San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) attempt to solve an armed robbery that occurred on June 21.
The robbery took place at approximately 2 a.m. that day, when a masked, armed gunman robbed the Shell Truck Stop located at 209 North Interstate-35 in San Marcos.
The robber pointed a black pump-style shotgun at the truck stop clerk and ordered clerk to give him all the money in the cash register. When the clerk complied, the robber took the money and left the truck stop on foot. A police K-9 search of the area for the robber was unsuccessful.
The suspect is believed to be a white or a Hispanic male, wearing a long sleeved black sweatshirt, black pants, white cloth gloves and an olive-colored beanie cap. The suspect also was wearing a black bandana with a skull print covering his face.
SMPD investigators have no other leads in this case and are seeking help to apprehend the robber, who is called armed and dangerous.
Anyone with any information that could help the SMPD solve the felony is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 324-TIPS (8477). Information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect(s), will make the caller eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
Crime Stoppers said all calls are totally confidential and all callers will remain anonymous. Callers do not have to give their names and will not have to testify in court.
