Johnny Villareal will help kids with art video projects on Tuesday night and Wednesday at the San Marcos Public Library.

STAFF REPORT

The San Marcos Public Library, 625 East Hopkins Street, will feature Johnny Villareal and his Edge of Imagination Station, in addition to other arts and crafts, for art night Tuesday starting at 7 p.m.

Villareal will guide kids through the steps of stop-motion animation art video creation at the “station.” Villareal will post the completed works on his YouTube channel for all to enjoy.

There will be fun crafts available, also, for kids four years old and older, or younger with adult supervision.

Art nights at the library provide a creative outlet for kids, stimulate imaginations and are lots of fun for the whole family.

Wednesday, kids two years old or older are invited to make chalk drawings on the pavement on the front porch of the library from 10-11:30 a.m. Residents may want to stop by and watch the chalky work in progress and see the pavement become a mosaic of color.

Inside the library, Villareal will have the Edge of Imagination Station set up for art-video creation from 10-11:30 a.m., as well.

Pick up the big purple calendar of summer events at the library or visit www.sanmmarcostx.gov/library and click on Summer Reading Program for a full listing.

For more information on this or any of the library’s programs, call (512) 393-8210.
