City to hold Rio Vista improvements meeting

The City of San Marcos Capital Improvements Department will hold a neighborhood meeting concerning the Rio Vista Terrace project Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be held at the San Marcos Nature Center, located at 430 Riverside Drive.

Among the city staff and consultants who will update residents about construction progress in Phase II of the project are San Marcos Director of Capital Improvements Projects (CIP) David Healey and contract project manager Carl Bain of Bain Median Bain Engineers.

Phase II, which began in March, includes relocation of residential water service lines and meters, new sewer service lines, storm water culvert installation and street reconstruction throughout the neighborhood. Substantial construction is underway on Haynes Street, Cheatham Street, Riverside Drive and McKinnon Street.

City engineers, consultants and contractors also will be on hand to answer questions and provide important information for owners and residents regarding the scheduling of next steps and upcoming improvements.

The city said it encourages all Rio Vista neighbors and interested citizens to attend.
