Chamber's legislative luncheon set for July 29

The San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that its annual legislative luncheon will take place July 29, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the City of San Marcos Conference Center.

The panel members will include State Representative Patrick Rose (D-San Marcos), State Representative Mark Strama (D-Pflugerville), National Federation of Business Texas Executive Director Will Newton and Texas Association of Business President/CEO Bill Hammond. The moderator will be Texas State Provost Perry Moore.

Sponsorships are available as follows: Presenting Sponsor (limit of one), $2,500; Champion Sponsor (limit of four), $1,250; Statesman Sponsor, $500; Advocate Sponsor, $250 before July 16 and $350 after that date; Supporter, $25 before July 16, $40 after that date. No tickets will be sold after July 23. For more information about sponsorships and registration, the chamber’s form is located here.

The chamber is accepting questions from members before the luncheon. The recommended topics are the state of the Texas budget, education, transportation, economic development, regional issues and small business issues. If the question does not fall under one of those topics, it can be included as “questions not covered” on the form, which is located here.
