Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Central Texas will celebrating its 25th anniversary at a wine-tasting event on July 29. Named “Aged to Perfection,” the event starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott, 750 North Interstate-35 in New Braunfels and is presented by Cork 101.
The wine-tasting will honor the co-founders of CASA of Central Texas and will includes former teacher Cindy Reinarz Buckham, Dr. Timothy Owens, District Judge Robert T. Pfeuffer, and former New Braunfels Police Department Lieutenant Felix Roque. Others to be recognized include advocates and supporters.
Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple and may be purchased in advance. Checks may be mailed with a note stipulating how many tickets are to be purchased to the CASA office at 1619 East Common Suite 301, New Braunfels, 78130. Checks must have a name and address on them. Tickets also are available for walk-in purchase at the New Braunfels office.
The event is sponsored by AT&T, Courtyard by Marriott-New Braunfels, Keller Williams Realty Heritage, Wells Fargo and Woods Cycle Country in New Braunfels.
CASA advocates served 228 children, speaking up for the best interests of abused and neglected children, in 2009 but another 348 did not have the voice of a CASA volunteer.
